With ages ranging from 8 - 84 and busy schedules for all, it is not always easy for our family of 17 to find time for a vacation. When we do get lucky and by we, I mean the three mothers, and by lucky, I mean putting our foot down and telling our college age children where they need to be and when--- we have the most lovely family vacations! This year we traveled to the luxurious island of Barbados.

With a butler and chef, it was a true vacation for all the moms! The mornings were spent floating in the serene, aqua blue ocean, which we have affectionately referred to as "float life'. In the afternoon, the group made their way to the pool, with a good book and an even better cocktail. Nine cousins reconnected, and laughter was a joyous sound. This vacation was truly one of a kind and I am grateful that we were able to carve out the time because the memories made with 3 generations are priceless.

Coming from a family that spent summers living on a boat for a month at a time, sailing the islands of the Bahamas, a boat day is always a fan favorite. We were able to spend four glorious hours on a beautiful and extravagant 62 foot catamaran with its sails flying high. Fun fact for anyone who suffers from sea sickness this may be the perfect boat for you as many of our family members found the lack of engine fumes and boat stability, greatly help fend off feeling ill! It was a magical experience to swim along side the seas turtles, snorkel over the reefs and float in the pristine, waters of the Caribbean.

We all know there is never a good time. School, work, sports and endless schedules constantly get in the way. In order to make this trip a reality, we had to make the trip a priority and say no to scheduled events. Time is so fleeting and precious and I am blessed to have been able to see my parents laugh and enjoy their children and grandchildren. When in doubt - make the time! You will never be sorry.
